A lot of the technical work LIXI undertakes can be hard to
see unless you are directly involved. Nonetheless, there has
been plenty happening over the past few months:
Products: It has been a long, hard road but (believe it or
not) we do seem to be making some real progress. Keep your
eye out for a new version of the Products Online Requirements
in the next couple of weeks.
Valuations: The LIXI Valuations standard
has been available for some time now, but we are well aware
that a standard isn’t
much use if you can’t implement it. So, LIXI has been
working with NICTA to develop a working
example of online valuation data exchange. The goal is to provide
an example of how to do it, and working, documented computer
code to give members a place to start their own implementations. Once
this is in place the idea is to extend the example to make
it relevant to all LIXI messaging. Keep an eye out for a meeting
coming up to demonstrate what NICTA has put together for us.
Commissions: A meeting has been scheduled for Monday
October 9 at 3pm where members can raise any issues or suggestions
they might have about getting working implementations of this
standard up and running.
Servicing: The Servicing Working Group editor (Michael
Herring of Axcess Consulting Group) has compiled a draft Requirements
document for this new standard. This document will be published
in online format shortly.
Business Processes: Our collaboration with NICTA to produce
a reference model for loan processing has continued throughout
this year, with various LIXI members contributing their expertise
to help the NICTA researchers refine the model. Version 2.0
of the model is planned to be available in time for the upcoming
LIXI AGM – and as always we’d love to hear your
comments.
