LIXI Products standard edges towards completion
It’s been a long road, but it finally looks
like we really will release a standard for online update of product
information. A draft schema has entered the final, month-long,
RFC (Request For Comments) stage which means that, all going well,
formal publication of LIXI Products 1.0 will happen towards the
end of December. That being said, if you expect that you may have
a use for this standard as either a creator or consumer of product
information it’s
not too late to review the draft and submit comments.
We’re
still very interested in feedback from members and will make changes
to the draft schema if there are good reasons for doing so. The
draft schema and associated documentation can be viewed and downloaded
from Products Working Group area on the LIXI website.
And while you’re thinking about distribution of Product
data another initiative that’s worth a look is the Visible
