Newsletter contributions |
Welcome to our first newsletter for 2008. Since I last communicated
with you the Board have been ensuring we have the appropriate focus to
deliver on the key areas that you, our members, told us were important.
Just to re-iterate they are: - Get more traction for the valuation standard,
create a toolkit to assist our members articulate the business value of
implementing efficiencies through the use of LIXI standards, remain
focused on supporting the National Electronic Conveyancing initiative
and build a more robust and transparent working group methodology to
support the introduction of new standards. While it is early in 2008,
the Board is already working on actions in these four areas. As tangible
results begin to come through we will update you.
I am excited about introducing to you the first of our evening series
on the 6th March. The evening series, which we intend to hold regularly
to supplement our annual LIXI forum, is an opportunity for you to be updated
on the initiatives happening within LIXI and to network with other members.
Apart from informing you of developments within LIXI, we also want
these evening series to be an opportunity for members to help us shape
future initiatives. To that end, we have selected some of the blue-sky
topics presented by attendees at last year’s forum and would like
you to vote for one of the five topics below when you RSVP your attendance
to the evening series.
- Settlement in 3 days: Share market transactions do it. How do we get there
for property? What are the top 2 or 3 things LIXI could do to make a significant
contribution to that goal?
- Should LIXI be an innovator and industry catalyst rather than just a keeper
of the standards?
- LIXI for dummies - when does the book come out and should LIXI write the
book?
- How can we reduce the variation in implementations of LIXI and tighten
the standard?
- Where do we see LIXI in 3-5 years time? Best case vs worst case.
A formal invitation to the event will be sent separately. Please feel free
to share with your colleagues.
I look forward to seeing you at our evening series and having some great
discussion around one of the above topics.
