The Vocabulary WG has been taking requests for enhancements/extensions
to CAL 1.2 for the release of CAL 1.3. Submission closed on
30 January 2004. Member will be advised when the next meeting
of the Vocabulary WG is to be convened to consider the requests.
At the end of 2003, the Vocbulary WG considered a set of change
requests made by the Settlement WG. Those requests have now
been processed and an example Schema is being produced, representing
the SettlementInstructions data set, which will be a subset
of CAL 1.3.
The Backchannel WG has reconvened to consider a proposal for
significant extensions and enhancements to the standard. The
WG met on Thursday 5 February and will meet again on Thursday
26 February to consider business requirement questions raised
and discussed in the first meeting. The WG is going to focus
initially on reconsidering the business requirements for the
message in response to the submission of a CAL ApplicationBatch
by Broker to Lender; the business requirements for updating
of status and event information between Lender and Broker; and
the business requirements for service requests between Lenders
and Brokers for current status and event information.
The Backchannel WG also agreed to refer questions of message
envelope, message reliability and encryption to the Implementation
WG. The Implementation WG has already produced a reference or
suggested envelope format, but this has not, as yet, been set
as a standard. The reference from the Backchannel Working Group
may result in a standard being recommended.
