Technical Sub-committee and Working Group
update
The most effective way to get full value from your membership
is through active involvement in the working groups. The progress
of the standard is a direct result of the enormous contribution
from members volunteering to work together to draft and agree
the standard.
We have a range of working groups in place and will focus this
update on the two that have been most recently set-up:
- Title Insurance Working Group – Convener Richard Gallilee
Two meetings of this working group have been conducted to
date. These have been attended by representatives of Resimac,
IMB, Sandstone Technologies and First Title plus Barry Thomas
as Chair of the LIXI Technical Sub-committee. Westpac and
ANZ have also indicated their support for the initiative.
As the group is leveraging the work previously performed for
title insurance there are few contentious issues and it is
anticipated one or two more meetings of the group should be
sufficient to submit a draft title insurance standard.
- Valuations Working Group - Convener Dennis White
We have also seen great interest in the Valuations working
group with 30 people attending the kick off meeting. Convener
Dennis White of Resimac was overwhelmed with the response
and is confident that a standard can be developed relatively
quickly given the level of representation.
