This is my last report as the chair of the Business Sub-committee,
a position that is being more than capably assumed by John Hearne
of PMI. In addition, the Business Sub-committee has hived off
a key responsibility to a new group, the Communications Sub-committee.
This move was in recognition by the Board of the critical importance
communication plays in the acceptance, understanding and promotion
of LIXI standards. Look for more information on the working
groups and sub-committees after the next General Meeting.
In other news for the Business Sub-committee has been working
with NICTA (National ICT Australia)
on opportunities for collaborative research. NICTA is one of
Australia's premier technology research institutions and have
the ability to greatly assist LIXI in areas that require more
dedicated resources than are available through our current volunteer-based
developments. We hope to have much more to say about NICTA in
the coming months.
Thanks to everyone for their support of the Sub-Committee activities
in 2004, I look forward to continuing work with the LIXI community
in 2005.
