Update on LIXI Technical Work

Vocabulary Management Prototype: LIXI has been working intensively with NICTA on a vocabulary management and display tool. In their words "The Vocabulary Management (VM) technology is a web-based system and method for business users to define and manage collections of business vocabularies and vocabulary inter-relationships. Semantic technologies are used in the design of the system, to formally define vocabularies and vocabulary relationships, and to automatically check their logical consistency. Vocabularies and their inter-relationships can be a reference for business people, and can inform the development of technical integration mechanisms." LIXI looks forward to the completion of this project and it's contribution to greater consistency across LIXI documentation.

Technical Training: LIXI will be providing a free Technical Training session open to all LIXI members, as a value add to better support the technical staff. In conjunction with the LIXI 2.0 architectural proposals, LIXI will be conducting training on the tools and strategies associated with portable XML-based rules, such as Schematron. The training session will be held on the afternoon of 3 November, just prior to the LIXI Forum on 4 November. The location and time will be announced shortly. All members are welcome to participate at no cost.

LIXI 2.0: LIXI members have recognised that there is a requirement for lenders to be in control of the architectural components that directly affect broker lodgement quality, specifically including the business rules that control the information that is submitted in an application. LIXI is developing a new architecture in response to this requirement, with publishable business rules and a new version of CAL A prototype of the architecture will be discussed at the LIXI Forum in November.

NCCP: LIXI lenders are collaborating on a common standard for the questions and responses for borrowers as part of the fact find that brokers will conduct with their clients. The common standard will be available in the fourth quarter of 2010 for implementation by 1 January 2011.

Doc Prep: LIXI is very pleased to announce that LeadPoint Mortgage Services has provided their requirements and draft schema that support the ordering of mortgage and loan documentation by lenders. LIXI, LeadPoint, and the Settlements working group are analyzing these requirements in order to generate a recommendation on the schema using the new “fast track” standards process.

eConveyancing workshops: As part of the involvement that LIXI has had with developing the data message standards for electronic conveyancing, LIXI will conduct a series of workshops around the country to discuss the opportunities for change in business processes, for lenders, lawyers and conveyancers. The locations, dates and times will be announced shortly. All members are welcome to participate at no cost.
