LIXI Board Sub-Committees
The executive and managerial responsibilities of the Board of Directors are devolved to a number of sub-committees that are comprised of approximately four board members and one or two optional, external additional contributors. The sub-committee responsibilities are currently divided into four general areas:
Business
The Business sub-committee has primary responsibility for revenue and administration which includes overall issues related to membershi, banking and finance, accounting and audit, ASIC, constitutional issues and the AGM.
Communication
The Communications sub-committee is responsible for the promotion of LIXI and the dissemination of information related to LIXI activites. This includes the information on the public website, news media releases, interviews with journalists, targeted LIXI events such as informational Evening Series and Australia's most influential and comprehensive conference on straight-through processing, the Annual LIXI Forum.
Intellectual Property
When the Board proposed adapting the membership paradigm to split licensing of the standards from general membership in the organisation, it was necessary to analyse the impact from a legal perspective. The Intellectual Property sub-committee was formed to take charge of these matters and to prepare the new IP Policy and Licensing Agreement. The work of the IP sub-committee now also reviews proposed changes to these agreements as well as the prospective relationships with other standards bodies such as Standards Australia.
Technical
The technical sub-committee manages the primary work of Standards development including requirements gathering, technical specifications and reference implementations.
